Actual Day Photography: Pantelis & Li Yen

When the clock hits 11.30pm and the guests at your wedding dinner are still around, it's a surefire way to know that you're holding a great party-- and that's exactly what happened at Pantelis and Li Yen's wedding dinner! Held at Hilton KL, the guests were wined and dined with an excellent menu selection, followed by a lot of dancing. We also set up a photo booth at the wedding, and it was so much fun seeing their guests make silly faces at the camera (more on the photo booth later!).

The most remarkable thing that night was when Pantelis and Li Yen were up on the stage giving their speech. Li Yen explained that they decided to take the amount that they initially budgeted for favours and donated the whole lot to Bethany Home Malaysia, who in turn gifted the couple with bookmarks handmade by the students from the home. These bookmarks were placed at each individual's table seating. Pantelis continued, "We hope that this will become a trend."

This is why it was such a pleasure to be part of their wedding. Pantelis and Li Yen sure know how to have a good time, but more importantly behind the crazy antics and belly-aching laughs were two big, giving hearts.

Wedding short film: Pantelis & Li Yen

Our short film for Pantelis & Li Yen! We went from location to location, and Pantelis finally set foot on a Malaysian beach (once you've seen the short film, you'll understand hehe).

Both Pantelis and Li Yen were a ball of fun, which really helped a lot because their chemistry really came through in the footage. What's really cool too is that both Pantelis and Li Yen shared all the true stories of events that happened, so we heard their guests exclaiming "Omg that's so true!" at different parts of the video.

You know what they say-- the way to a man or a woman's heart is.................. :-)

Pre-Wedding: Pantelis & Li Yen

From Cyprus to UK and back to Malaysia, the very unlikely love of Pantelis and Li Yen grew into something very likely you'll watch on Friends. Yin and yang, worlds apart, but yet at the same time there are no two peas that would fit in a pod better than these two.

Li Yen's wedding dress was built around her veil, which was the first thing she had her eye on-- beautiful vintage lace detailing that speaks femininity without shouting girly-girl, if you know what I mean heheheh.

While spending time with them, it was evident that Pantelis was the crazier one, always keeping Li Yen (and us) entertained with his silly antics. We hope that as you look through their photos, you'll get the same feeling as us; that they've both graciously opened up a little window for us to peek into their lives together as one :-)

Pre-Wedding: Sen Kiat & Ching-Ching

Shot on film and in medium format, our pre-wedding photographs were exactly what we experienced in our relationship-- laughter, fun, and liveliness. One of our favourite dates were spent going on rides at a fun fair, and we were so lucky to have been able to take our photos at a retro fun fair!

If you watch our wedding short film, you'll see that each photo has an element that is important to our relationship, from the presence of our dog, to the fun fair ride, to the music instruments... and to us, that's the most special thing someone can have in their pre-wedding photos-- real memories. It's about carving your friends and family a little window into your relationship, not just about 2 people posing in front of some nice-looking building :-)

Wedding short film: Sen Kiat & Ching-Ching

A one-take video that was a success because of many good friends and some unexpected magic. We did what some people would call a "dry run" with the camera, and halfway through the shoot RAIN POURED! It was insane. Lobak just yelled out "Keep on going, keep on going!" and all of us soldiered on. Right after the last scene, we ran to get all the props and scampered off to our cars-- praying and hoping that the take worked because it was the only take we had.

So yep... we know what magic really feels like hahhaha. OK fine you can call it luck too.

Wedding short film: Cheryl & Minh

Cheryl is a high flyer on the corporate ladder, and Minh is a free-spirited nature boy-- and yeppp, this is their story! Lobak made the pop up book and Cheryl and Minh played the paper versions of themselves. After a few dry runs and worrying about whether there were enough hands, this love story bathed in pastel hues was born.

After the shoot (and rounds of laughter and tangled hands) was over, Cheryl and Minh went home with the pop up book in their arms. Now that's a story we hope they'll be telling their children and grandchildren again and again when the time comes :-)
